Stoll – installation of SAP R/3 Rel. 4.7
The aim of the project with Stoll flat knitting machines was to completely replace the legacy system and install new functionality with the least possible change to processes. In order to model the customer-specific nature of the manufacturing process, project requirements were set out that on the one hand met the specifications and on the other enabled flexibility for changes from one customer to the next.
In addition to these specific requirements, the production volume of about 30 machines per day presented a further challenge. Following the installation of an accounting system as the first step, the second step was to migrate the logistics to SAP in one go. The first improvements were recorded just one week after starting production – thanks to the special role of SAP in materials procurement.
Key points:
- Project management of customer orders with advance, current and subsequent cost and revenue calculations.
- Additional developments were made to enable individual customer requirements to be met and the volume to be coped with under the demands placed on it.
- Service processing
- Profitability calculation for working out the project break-even point
- Display of development projects in SAP to manage purchasing and assembly of prototype parts in an integrated manner
- Kanban process
