Mobiltel - inventory management in SAP

Mobitel Bulgaria’s warehouse and distribution logistics and the company’s product manufacturing processes were mapped into SAP R/3 to replace the existing legacy system.

Telecommunications business processes require serial number-specific product inventory management and precise tracking of products throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition and assembly to point of sale.
Both requirements were met using the SNPM® Logistics Manager, a comprehensive add-on to SAP R/3, which is ideal for meeting all requirements for serial number-based warehouse management of mass-produced goods.

A second highlight of this project was supplying 160 company-owned retail outlets with a decentralized requirements management tool for retail goods replenishment processes, as well as for internal use in SAP R/3. An interface to an external sales checkout system enables transmission and analysis of sales data in SAP as well as serial number-based shop inventory management.

Key points:

  • Comprehensive add-on to SAP R/3 for serial number-based inventory management (SNPM® Logistics Manager)
  • Decentralized requirements management for shop replenishment and internal requirements featuring volume scheduling and release
  • Workflow processes, emailing to logistics managers
  • High level of data capture security via comprehensive data entry checking software. Comprehensive monitoring and reporting tools.

Mobiltel - web procurement in SAP

To optimize Mobitel Bulgaria’s internal processes, a centralized, web-based system that integrated fully with SAP R/3 was implemented for managing the company’s requirements and ordering processes.
A BSP-based tool was developed with the aid of the web application server (WAS) for entering requirements (purchase requisitions), characterized by its high user-friendliness in terms of user guidance and intuitive menu navigation.
The release of requirements is subject to a highly customizable strategy; the capabilities of SAP standard were greatly extended here through additional developments. Individual user groups (manufacturing, release, purchasing) are optimally supported via Workflow tools, email and effective reporting in order to cope with large numbers of transactions with minimal effort.

Key points:

  • WAS-based BSP application for tracking and releasing purchase requisitions (requirements)
  • Direct integration with purchasing in SAP R/3 (master and transaction data)
  • Release strategy that is individually configurable for various business situations and scenarios
  • High level of data capture security by means of comprehensive data entry, checking software, workflow processes, emailing and direct linking to web application
  • Comprehensive monitoring and reporting tools
