L'Oréal – connection of logistics service provider to SAP R/3

L'Oréal’s warehouse logistics in Austria was transferred to a local logistics service provider.

L'Oréal’s SAP R/3 system needed to continue being the principal system for recording sales orders, purchasing processes and movement of materials. These were transmitted via EDI to the service provider’s warehouse management system in order for them to carry out storage and commissioning of products according to these documents. Despatch and transportation data is also maintained in SAP and transferred to the service provider along with the documentation.

Furthermore, by way of an audit, the services billed by the service provider can be automatically verified against the documented data in SAP and discounts calculated at any time.
