Atronic - make-to-order variant configuration in SAP R/3

Atronic is a leading global manufacturer of electronic gaming devices, principally of the underlying games software.

To optimize production in its South Styrian plant, the manufacturing process, previously for anonymous storage goods, was converted for customer contract manufacturing (make-to-order).

The goals of the project were optimized inventory control, scheduling and availability information, plus order-related reporting and transparent calculation for manufactured products.

Because of the enormous range of products resulting from the wide range of games and country-specific hardware and software requirements, variant configuration was installed in order entry in SD.
By evaluating dozens of features, a production bill of materials can be directly generated and transferred to the production order.
Because of the company’s international orientation, complex distribution and production processes were also mapped, such as sales across multiple accounting areas, consignment processes and a plant abroad.
